5 Reasons Our Child-Led Approach Works

Backstory
If you had piano lessons growing up, you likely remember them the same way we do. We have had
our friends and families describe them as "it was a
chore", or "it was just another source of homework". Very few of us remember loving going to our lessons, looking forward to the practice time at home or feeling fulfilled or accomplished.
Thankfully, a lot of us overcame those feelings and still found a love and passion for music. Some, like Tim (co-founder of 2 Nineteen), even continued to pursue it as a career. Others, like Sofia (co-founder of 2 Nineteen), discovered a new music world outside the lessons and fell in love.
What if it were different? What if we could make that experience as fresh and vibrant as it deserves to be for our kids?

We know our music instruction approach, being rooted in child-led concepts, works because we see it in our students every day:
The music they learn is relevant to them and they are eager to learn it. Students light up when they see sheet music for a song they like turn up on their music stand.
The pressure-free environment means the students aren't forced into a new skill before they are ready. There is time for laughter, listening and positive vibes during a lesson. We take the time to get to know the student and it helps us guide their journey.
The professional studio environment encourages the students' curiosity and imagination. Students are immersed in a fresh, fun space that helps foster their musical creativity.
The exposure to different music genres and understanding of different instruments creates more well-rounded musicians. We frequently take time in our lessons to explore new and different styles of music. Some students even walk away with a new favourite!
Finally, the joy. Our students are genuinely happy coming to their lessons. Some even say it's the highlight of their week (awh shucks!)
Conclusion
We truly believe our method works. Our goal is to inspire kids to love music. We are seeing that our business is growing, not because we invested in more marketing or Google Ads, but because the love for music that is cultivated in our school is now being shared with siblings, friends and neighbors.
